Christian is located in Chicago, IL, and he has 20 years of international management and restructuring experience in the direct marketing industry. Most years he was with Otto Versand, the worlds largest catalog company. Subsequently he held the position of CEO at uBid.com, the on-line auction company. Christian is responsible for our international mergers and acquisitions of catalog companies, strategic marketing, and “front-end” restructuring. Christian is a Member of the Board of Pangea Holdings Limited, and the boards of its catalog subsidiaries. Prior to joining Pangea Holdings Limited, Christian held the position of President & CEO at uBid.com, the second largest on-line auction site with sales of $250 million. During his time at uBid, Christian led a successful turnaround and sold the company to a strategic buyer. At Spiegel, Christian held the position of SVP - Marketing. He was responsible for the strategic turnaround at Spiegel by refocusing the marketing activities on the core customers, resulting in a sales growth of 40% and significant profits as compared to substantial losses prior to his arrival. At Newport News, Christian held the position of VP – Advertising and Business Development, and he was part of the team, which brought the company out of bankruptcy and returned it to profitability. At Otto Versand, the parent company of Spiegel and Newport News, Christian spent 10 years working with group companies in Germany, France, Italy, Austria, UK, USA and Japan, during which he accumulated a wealth of insights and experience in the direct marketing industry. Christian holds an MBA equivalent degree from Christian Albrecht’s University in Kiel, Germany.
